Tomorrow is the big day many of us Iowa bow hunters have been waiting months for. While I won’t be out in my stand the opening weekend I’d like to wish the best of luck to those who will be hunting the opening weekend and I’d also like to remind everyone to hunt safe. Too-many hunters are injured every year falling out of treestands. Make sure you wear a safety harness or safety belt and be careful getting in and out of the stand. Always ask permission and make sure you are hunting the property you are supposed to be on.
I’ll be headed out to the woods the following weekend as the deer should be starting to move a little more by then and the bugs might be a little less of a hassle. I might go fishing this weekend as once bow season gets underway for me I seldom hit the river until the deer seasons are over.
Again, be safe and best of luck bagging one of those trophy Iowa bucks.
