Hey fish, have you ever looked at a darton bow, thier top of the line too and make some very fast bows. I have a darton maverick that i bought 8 years ago and it still shoots straight and i get 284′ @ 28″ @70lbs from a 2110 xx78 super slam. The year i bought this bow it had the straightest knock travel of any bow made that year. At 30 yrds the arrow hits in a about 1/4 second, its hard for a deer to jump and arrow at that speed. If i was shooting carbons i’d get probably 320′ from it. Its very light and very forgiving and its got looks too with the recurved limbs. Im looking at the new dartons because its time for me to upgrade and heres thier site http://www.dartonarchery.com take a look, ive already looked at the dealers in wisc and theres quit a few where you live, one in lacrosse or onalaska too. The bare maverick goes for $714 with nice camo and recurve limbs. Take a look, thier sweet bows and quiet too.

Sorry to tell ya, Mossydan… there isn’t a bow made that can be quicker than a deer reflexes.

I know what your saying guys about a deer being able to jump an arrow at 30 yrds but it depends at what range i think. At 25 yrds up i can see one jumping it if hes ready to run after seeing you. Under twenty yards it becomes a diffrent story under diffrent conditions. I’ve personally never had to worry about a deer jumping an arrow but when i used to shoot league a couple of guys that shot there had deer looking them in the eyes and they drilled them befor they jumped. If i didn’t know they guys i would have maybe thought otherwise. A deer can jump an arrow but at 20yrds and under its very hard too and the odds would be in my favor for a good hit. When thier right infront of you its a kill if the shots on befor you release.

Fish the darton bows are quiet and they sound like all the other good bows that are quiet too. My maverick is very smooth and even when pulling back. Ive pulled back other bows and the darton maverick is right in there too. Because i’ve shot my darton and a few other bows im deciding to stay with darton because im used to its actions and i just don’t want to get used to another bow thats diffrent. I know theres other bows that are just as good as any but im staying with darton because i’ve never had a problem with mine and thier cherry looking too, call it preference. Ive heard thier gaurantee is good by one guy years ago that needed it and they replaced what what wrong and the piece came right away. Dartons been in the bow business for 30 years and im sure part of thier reputation was built on service. There isn’t a bow company that would stay in bussiness if they didn’t have a decent replacement program, maybe one year of bad service but they change that after bow sales drop. Dartons are good bows and have been for along time. My bows always stayed as accurate as i can shoot and will bring me right back to sighting accurately if im haveing an off day, it will tune me right back where i should be.
