Ok………. did anyone else catch North American Whitetail TV last night or Tuesday? Did you see that bruiser buck Stan Potts put down That was one of the better kill footage I have seen. Decoy and all. That buck was sort of interested when Potts grunted at him, possibly would have came in, maybe not. But when he snort-wheezed, that sealed the deal. Has anyone else tried this! It is amazing the effect it can have. As seen last night, it just might be what you need to pull that buck in from gun range to 7 yards. I have used this many times with good results. I usually use it after my grunt and when I think the deer is not going to come in. I have turned bucks going the other way, to come back. It can drive them wild, especially the bigger bucks. I have also used it on immature bucks. Yopu want to talk about scaring the crap out of someone. I have done this on immature bucks and they can’t get out of the county fast enough.

I’m offically over the edge and no more denying the itch! I have the FEVER and NO STOPPING ME NOW

Only another month unitil ND season

That’s arguably the most effective method I employ! It brings ’em running in a hurry.

What you mean it is still July???

There is plenty I need to do before hand. But, is it normal to lie in bed at night staring at the ceiling until 2 am. ????? Thinking of Monster bucks you have encountered in the past and scenarios of places you will sit this year hoping that you have picked the right stand to encounter that Bruiser main frame 5×5 (with 10 points on one side and eight on the other) that your buddy has on film on the farm you hunt?????

Man I need to get a decent Video Camera for some footage this year. I also need to get a camera man to run the camera, cause I have tried doing both, and it just don’t work.

Mark, I hear you. A few years ago in Early November, I had brought this big 150 class 5×5 across a river and up the hill doing a snort wheeze while I had a decent 110-120 class deer right in front of me with a forker. The two more immatire deer were fixed on what that big buck was doing and I was able to squeek a snort-wheeze out and that big boy looked at the other two bucks from the other side of the river like, which one of you two did that ???? He came across the river and stood about 35 yards qaurtering to me as the other two deer took of like a rocket. I sitll think they might be running . Needless to say that brusier gave me a 30 yard shot, but it was still qaurtering to, so I let him walk as he slipped behind some thicker cover and walked by at about 30 yards broadside with no clear shot through the thick junk . But what a encounter, none the less Man I live for moments like that . That is one of the reasons I’m a big fan of Stan Potts. The emotion he shows, is defintiely not acting. He does this for a living and still gets as shook up after a shot or encounter as I do.

If you get a chance, check out PrimeTime Bucks 9, disk 2. The opening hunt is a local SE MN hunter, Dennis Williams, rattles and decoys in a booner across a crp field in IL. The monster goes nose to nose with the decoy forever, they had to crop the footage to put it on the DVD, until finally Dennis puts the hammer to him and the deer piles up in the field. Another great hunt captured by the HS staff.

I absolutely went crazy watchin that show last night. As soon as Stan did the snort wheez that big boy puffed right up!!! I almost thought the gig was up when it looked like the buck looked up at the camera man! Nope!
I can’t help myself, but I always catch myself making that certain noise when the shooter’s arrow hits the boiler room! OOOWWWHHH!!! Put the hammer down!!!
Stan is the man. Just like Will Primo…they have shot many a monsters, but the next one seems just like the FIRST one!
I CAN”T WAIT!!! and shows like that don’t make it easier! What’s the deal with Mr. Miller??? I haven’t seen him on a hunt for a couple of weeks and doesn’t sound like next week either???

Did you catch the segment on “Big Bucks” the guy from Eau Claire. Said him and his hunting partner counted the points five different times and ended up with FIVE different numbers!

Lip ripper, Grunt snort wheese does work for me. I was in my stand about 15′ off the ground and was grunting occasionally. Nothing was showing up and i thought try grunting and wheesing so i did. I had a well traveled trail under my tree right by another nice trail leading up the hill from the creek and a hill sloping away from me full of under growth. I starting grunting, maybe 6 or 7 times and not too fast. Then grunted two or three times again. I turned the tube around and inhaled for the grunt there, sounds like two diffrent deer. Then i wheesed for about 1 minute inhaling and exhaling as fast as i could against the side of the wood on the call. I did this for about 5 minutes and looked down at the bottom of my tree and there was an 8 pointer standing there looking out into the field where i was trying to pull a buck from. I didn’t know how long he had been standing there maybe 5 minutes. I thought im going to use him for a decoy and wheesed again and when i did i watched him and he started tuning his head back and forth and was looking for the two bucks that were right near him but he couldn’t see them and he was sure they were there. I did that for about 10 minutes and he turned around and started walking back on the trail, i wheesed one more time and he came back and still wanted too see those two bucks he was hearing. He wasen’t a shooter. Grunt snort wheese does work, lots of smaller guys come in too.

Ok, that is it I can not handle it anymore. In between paitning a few rooms last night I watched Tuesday night hunts on the Outdoor Channel and watched the 11:30 show of JackBritttingham arrow a 259″ buck . The thing did not even look real. It was in Texas on a ranch, so I’m not sure of the Ethics and other things. I know this guy has shot more big bucks than anybody, but are these deer penned????? It really doesn’t matter, cause that deer was one amazing animal

The Drury Boys had some good flicks also! Man I have to stop watching TV on Tuesday nights . Man I just get to jacked up and I can’t sleep at night after watching that stuff It is the only time the TV comes on and for North American Whitetail and In-fisherman on Thursday nights !
