24 Point Buck Shot in Livingston, KY during gun season Roger saw it chasing a doe and thought it looked pretty big Shot at 150 yds Was hunting by himself Field dressed at 215 lbs He’s been told the head might sell for $100K to 200K North American Whitetail shot the story and it will air next fall Buck Master measured the antlers and said it is a new state record Boone & Crockett will wait until the antlers dry and then measure but scored a preliminary 287. The state record was broken about two years ago and had a score Of 260

Got this in an e-mail, not sure where it came from and I could not find any info on the Boone & Crockett Web Site. Anyone have any more info on this buck?

What an awesome buck. I’ve always heard there was a lot of inbreeding down Kentucky way. That would explain the genetics that led to the bizzare set of antlers.

Down here in Iowa I used to say that about Minnesota but now that I have a daughter married and living in St. Cloud I can’t say that any longer.

I spent 5 years working about 30 miles north of Lexington and shot a nice 8 pointer down there. They have good deer but you have to watch where you go because the moonshiners set up ‘Nam type traps if you get too close to their stills.

    Steve,
that rack would be a trick to score, and would have to get a panel of opinions about the wierd growth. does not look to have any basic rack to start with. just looks like all non-typ points, what a mess. I don’t want to score it. Jack..
