Here is a story for you guys!! This deer is a he/she deer it was taken in south Texas last year during gun season. The 17 points rack is weird looking because it has a physical deformation. After shoot it though Alan Woodward had it checked out and it was actually a she. Here’s the picture if anybody wants to look at it. Has anybody else seen this before?

In Iowa about 6 or 7 years ago a member of our hunting party shot a nice heavy 9 point. It was a he/she. The deer had all of the exterior plumbing of a doe but had a rack. The testicals were there when we gutted her. They were inside next to the female parts. It is like a 1 to 400,000 occurance in the wild. It happens to all species of anomals. It is called a hermaphoradite (sp)

If I remeber correctly, if it still has velvet after others have lost theirs, it is still capable of bearing young. If the velvet is shed on this type of deer they are not able to bear young, but still go through the esterus cycle. Just going off of memory of what I read.

My old buddy who passed away this past fall shot an 8 point doe about 10 years ago. Looked just like a normal buck, but with the female parts……….Very, very odd to roll over a buck to gut it and there is “nothing” there……..Talk about being confused!!!!
