Well only a few days left to get out after the deer before the bow gets put away for a break again. I was thinking of ice fishing yesterday but with the freezing rain, fog, and then changing to all rain I decided to stay off the roads and opted to take a short stroll and set up my dog house deer/turkey blind and spend a few hours late in the afternoon. After siting a little while I thought I had better practice pulling back the bow inside the blind a few times just to make sure I could do so quitely as my arm has been sore with tendenitice. I couldn’t even get the bow drawn back. I sat there a few moments then high tailed it to home for my older Fred Bear Polar Two which I have set to 60 lbs. Once I got back and settled in my blind I finished out the afternoon with no sightings other than birds, rabbits, and squirrels. Oh well I’ll be back out tomorrow to see if I can’t get a nice doe. So anyone else still hunting? Steve

Today was the last day for us in MN. I have been out quit regular all Dec. Took a doe in late Oct. Took a nice buck in mid Nov. Took another doe in early Dec. Today 12 of us went down to Whitewater area to do the annual last day drives. 1st drive we had about 30 deer almost make it to the posters but cut out at the last second. 2nd drive we didn’t see many at all. By that time it was time to head back for home and get on stand for the last time for awhile. Usually I’ll see 10+ deer come out to the field I hunt but tonight nothing came by at all. Kind of a boring ending. It was a great year overall though.

I went out Friday (Mn’s last day). Found a skull to a 4 pointer (probably from either bow or early gun season), and a small 8 pointer (more recent kill as only his butt was chewed up) most likely shot during muzzle-load season. the 8 point was hit high. These were both found within 200 yards of each other. I was disappointed to have found one, but then to find a second one was a real let down.
