tonight I finally struck with my bow. It was a little doe, but it’s the first deer I have taken with a bow. I pretty much had the attitude if it’s brown it’s down for bow hunting. I was just so excited to finally get one with a bow that I had to write it down. I finally understand what all the hype is about bow hunting. Man it was cool drawing my bow and her not having a clue. I made a perfect hit through both lungs and she only ran 20 yards before crashing over. There I’m done gloating

November 29, 2004 at 7:17 pm #4749Now you are in for it! Start cancelling those pheasant hunting trips, duck hunting trips, fall fishing. Ok, I may be exagerating some, but it is very addictive!
Congrats on your harvest and a nice clean kill

November 30, 2004 at 2:51 am #4766Great job . I can remember my first one with a bow, it was no bigger than a German Shepherd , but I was thrilled to no end. Since then I have taken quite a few does, but no bucks yet. This might be the year for that during the late season. I still find it amazing how a bow shot deer will usually fall quicker than a gun shot deer.

December 1, 2004 at 3:46 am #4793Hey Scott, i know what your saying. Ive spent full hunting seasons in a tree with no shotgunning at all. Went back to the stand after shotgun season was over and hunted the rest of the season. Sitting in a treestand is like going to the best wildlife movies around. Nothings like seeing a decent buck near your stand even if you can’t get him to come in, it really sharpens the senses.

JiraPosts: 517December 2, 2004 at 4:23 am #4823Congrats! I love hearing people hooked on bowhunting.
My dad started bow hunting this year and also got his first… a small doe as well. I’ll never forget how happy he was.
The best part was I got to see the shot. I’ll spare you the details but as you know it’s rare a bowhunter sees another take one… and I got to enjoy the entire thing with him. Awesome.
