Hey Daniel, Im going to try to explain to you how to build a simple fence to try to get you some antlers when they start to become loose as new growth forces the old ones off. If the other hunters at the site here want to suggest thier ideas on how too make this simple fence better then between us all we can probaby help you build one. Here goes… Take a piece of printer paper and fold it lengthwise so its folded down through the center, now stand it on end on your table and open it up at about a 90 degree angle, this looks like a V. Imagine now that the outer edges of the paper are 2″ by 4″‘s plus the center fold is also a 2″ by 4″, this is the frame. Now the paper itself is the fenceing that you will use to cover the frame on one side only. OK back to the frame, the left and right 2″ by 4″s you want a little shorter then the center one so the frame tips twards the v opening so when the deer reaches back to the rear of the fence, at the corn or alfalfa to eat, when he raises his head to look for danger his rack will rubb against the fencing. Ok so now you have a frame thats got something attached to the whole outside. My suggestion is you can wrap the frame with hog wire, or a wire mesh size of 2″ by 4″ but i wouldn’t go too much bigger in mesh size because thier antlers may get caught in it and get tangled up and that would only cause problems for the deer not ready to shed his antlers yet. A person could also use wood lath that you can buy at a local lumber yard or just plain saplings that are nailed too the frame will work too, You should be able to buy a whole bundle of wood lath they use to use for plastering plus other things for about $10 to $20 dollars. You could build the entire frame from small saplings that you could cut down from your local timber and maybe find some old wire that would serve your purpose too. If you can’t find any wire to use then just use saplings and nail them on to the frame. When your done building this at the location where you want to put it just put some ear corn or alfalfa on the ground in the center of the v and this will make them lean over to eat and hopefully hit a loose antler when he raises his head. I hope this helps you get more antlers you want and maybe just maybe you’ll walk up to the fence someday and thier will be a really nice big rack for you. I hope this helps you my friend, i know this kind of fence does work in helping knock off loose racks. Good luck and let us know here at the site if you get any ok?

Welcome aboard Daniel. Keep us posted with your bleaching efforts. I wonder if lutefisk water would work on those antlers?
