Way to go on the great deer, would sure like to put a tape on him!! is it a 5 x 5, 5 x 4, or 4 x 4. good symetry. Jack..
Jack, this buck is a basic 5×5 with a few sticker points. One of his G 4’s is 3 5/8 while the other is only 1 5/8. That point has a mushroom end on it….. The left G 3 is 11 6/8 Right G 3 is 12 2/8….. Both G 2’s are right around 13 2/8. …..Left G 1 is 8 2/8. Right G 1 is 7 3/8. Left beam is 27 1/8 inches. Right beam is 26 1/2 inches. ….The first 3 circumference measurements on the beams (measure the narrowest diameters) are an average of 5 4/8 inches, with the last measurements (H 4)… right beam 4 3/8 and left beam 5 inches…. This deer has about 10 inches in point deductions. The inside spread was 17 6/8 also.
I did a little more research on scoring and found out that P&Y and B&C are scored the same. If that’s the case this bad boy scores in the area of 196 gross total inches with around 13 inches for deductions. Putting him in the 180 to 185 class.
