Shot this guy on a little piece of stateland in Houston county at 2pm last Thursday afternoon. I had no more than brushed away the leaves next to my tree when I heard him comin over the hill. Hit him hard with the first shot at 35-40yds. He only ran about 50-60yds before droppin dead 
.
He’s not huge by any means, but after passing on dozens of little bucks over the last 2-3 years, it was nice to get that barrel blazzin again

Sorry Steve……I didn’t bother gettin any measurements on him. I think I’m going to get a skull mount done (boil and bleach it). I’ve already got 2 head mounts of very similar sized bucks on my wall, so I thought I’d try something different with this guy 
.
I passed on a iffy shot at a buck that looked to be this guys identical twin about an hour after I got done guttin this one. Just a nice massive 3 1/2 year old 8pt. I decided that he has the possibility of being a true brute next year, so I let him walk in hopes that he’ll make it through the next few weeks (plus I really didn’t want to drag out 2 deer in one night ).
