What’s this? Nobody but me fired up for Minn gun opener? Dug out the slugs and orange stuff this morning and now my teeth are chattering as I type this. Sleep will now only be a fleeting memory.

Well, I had a Zone T hunt in WI last weekend, so I can see why there isn’t much excitement about the MN opener!

November 6, 2004 at 5:46 pm #4263As of noon, only three deer registered in Marshall, MN. I am stuck here at work registering deer instead of hunting them. I will bring my camera tomorrow and hopefully get some pics. They should be moving more tomorrow.

November 8, 2004 at 3:42 am #4289Registered 87 deer this weekend in Marshall, MN. I guess this is similar to years past. The biggest was a 10 pt. buck. At my work we score them # of pts + length of two longest tines + spread. This one scored a 51. I noticed that this method really favors those big 8 and 10 pointers with the long tines. I scored a 15 pointer also this weekend. Almost every hunter let the DNR take a CWD sample. It is great to see people taking the extra time to help out the DNR and the deer in this state.

November 9, 2004 at 12:11 am #4319Hunting was tough this weekend in our area. High temps and standing corn made for no daytime activity for our deer. Saw 12 deer in the headlights after dark Sat night on the way back from the stand. Oh well, we have 4 more days next weekend.
