    Hey Kid,

We’ve been seeing early signs of the beginning of the rut….I would say from now until the first 10 or so days in November would be the prime time to use “rut” tactics…

The only things that stinks is that T-zone is from the 28th-31st, which is PRIME time for rut…so you can’t bowhunt then….(for bucks anyway). Get out this weekend and the first 2 weekends of Nov…..you should be good.

Have to agree with you Slop. Deer are on the move already. Just happens that I had a little 6 pointer chasing a doe last weekend already. I have also heard of a couple people using the doe bleet can and having bucks come in.

End of the month and early November are prime time. Sorry to hear about your Zone T. Try the CWD zones, where you have to earn a buck and they will give you up to 5 tags a day. Not what I wanted, but we have to do something to get this CWD taken care of.

Hit it hard this weekend!!! Just have a hunch it is going to be a good weekend

I was out last night and stuck a nice doe so I have my buck tag for the bow, now I need to get another for my gun tag. On my way back to the farm right after I shot the doe I saw a dandy 10-pointer in the 130 class range feeding in a chopped corn field with 9 doe and fawn, so I would say the rut is just beginning. There are a lot of scrapes and rubs around my land but I haven’t seen any bucks chasing doe yet. If you have any recently harvested corn or beans to hunt over, do so now. The few chopped corn fields by me have been getting hit hard by the deer right now.
