There is a huge flaw in this article. The Low carb diet plans such as Atkins promote/require excercise as a part of the regimine. I lost 60lbs on the Atkins in preparation for my Elk hunt in the Rockies last year. I also walked several miles and hiked up the Ski hill regularly.

Our Outfitter complimented me on being in the best shape of eight of us inspite of still weighing 280# at the time.

You do NOT eliminate carbohydrates on any of the mentioned diets. You reduce them dramatically for a few weeks to get your body to produce its own “fat burning” enzyme. Then you gradually add healthy vegetables and fruits and more healthy carbs/fiber.

What you do cut out is SUGAR and that will benefit all of us. All I know is it really “saved ” my life. I have lost close to 100 lbs and feel like I’m 20 years younger.

If you go from the office desk to a rigorous mountain hunt overweight or out of reasonable shape, carb loading will NOT save you from physical disaster.
