Although I do not hunt deer much with a firearm, if I do I only really have one rifle for all around use (Elk, Bear Deer). I use a 7mm Magnum in the Winchester Model 70 with usually 150 grain Remmington ballistic noslers if I’m chasing bucks , otherwise 150 grain corlokt if I’m hunting does.

But my weapon of choice would be my Matthews Legacy with my trophy taker rest along with my 100 grain SteelForce broadheads. Sweet set up!

Remington 1100 modified barrel Federal foster slugs. Using this gun for 30 years. Probably won’t use any thing else.

In the hardwoods I use a Sako Model 75 in .308 Win with a Zeiss 3X9 scope. 165gr Sierra HPBTs in front of 46gr of IMR 4350. She is a tackdriver and hits like Thor’s hammer. My favorite for heavy cover still hunting is a Winchester Mod 94 lever action in .356 Win caliber(200gr soft nose) and open sights….I call that one “Thumper”.

I love my new Oneida Black Eagle/carbon limb bow. At 65#…. I use a Pro Point red dot, NitroStinger tapered carbon arrows and 125gr Muzzys. They never go very far with a Muzzy through the boiler room.
