Until Wisconsin bow season opens…YEEEHAWWWWW!!!! I am just pumped already and the countdown has allready begun. The wife is glad because now she doesn’t have to listen to me whine about getting a new boat this year . I try to tell her if I did it would only be the third one since spring . I have been out shooting quite a bit instead of fishing, but I can’t decide between the two what I enjoy more. I think the bowhunting is my top priority because it is more of an individual thing. I like my space away from the general public . Anyone else counting down yet?

Not to bow season, but I’m counting the days until I’m sitting in Wyoming, glassing the hills for elk. Hit Cabelas last weekend for some much needed goodies. I’ll be placing another order online soon for a few more items. Oct is the best month of the year for many reasons, huge eyes and elk season!!

I love sitting in the tree with the bow, but I usually wait until after the first good hard frost to kill off those skeeters. Nothing I hate more than sitting in my tree stand and swatting at skeeters, might as well be waving a big orange flag saying here I am.

It’s been a long summer. Atleast its close enough now to start glassing soybean fields for some antlers. Seen a bachelor group of 4 on Tuesday with a pretty good one in it. I’m pumped for the MN and WI archery openers but I’m also pumped, because I drew an elk tag in Montana this year. Will be heading out there late September to chase some bugling beasts. Wish we could skip August and move straight into September.

Yes, I hear you! Can’t wait. I have been just trying to deny my itch, but it is becoming harder and harder to do. Can’t wait to be sitting in a stand looking for MR. BIG. Only a short time left. Time to get the trial cameras set up to see whose hanging around.

I also was in denial for awhile , but you can’t fool your passion. I was out last night driving around the property and saw two bucks. One was looking pretty good and the other was just a little fella. Few more weeks and I will be sitting along the field edges in the Double Bull doing some long distance scouting. I take the kids with me sometimes and they have a ball.

I know I can’t wait to get in that stand. I know because of the new rules in my area (earn a buck) I will be taking out deloris as soon as possible. I wasn’t lucky enough to draw an elk tag. I figure I’ll just put more time into hunting the big one.
