Deer mono fence update

    I posted a while ago about how I live in the suburbs and deer destroy everything despite home brew/store bought deterrents. I tried a recommendation for a mono fence for my new apple tree and it worked! I let the deer have their way with any ornamental perennials but built a fence with 4 posts and 30lb mono for the one apple tree. There was no damage to the tree all year and we harvested 12 apples, made 2 pies, and learned about pollination, bees, and apples.

    Cool. I’ve thought about doing this, and your report may have pushed me to do it in the spring!
