^^ If you want to buy new ones every 1-2 years.

Best I found for the money is Interstate. Napa or Deka are good too. I would by an Auto Zone brand battery before a Wally World anyday.

I have had the best luck with Interstates and Napa Legend. I do not see the value in cheap batteries.

Used to be a big interstate guy now I’m not so sure. They don’t last like they used to.
Depending on your trolling motor habits I would go bigger than 27’s

I bought a pair of the Fleet Farm knock off brands a couple years ago. I can’t remember what they’re called. They’ve performed well so far but have only used them for 1.5 seasons.

I have them to. I won’t buy them again. After 2 seasons they die. Mine see heavy use and were getting weak at the end of the season. I will be buying something different real soon. And also want 2 good reasonable priced battery.

I’ll keep that in mind. Year 2 will be coming up with them real soon.

I know the topic is affordable deep cycle batteries, but a dozen years ago I ponied up the bucks and bought an Optima battery. I kept replacing my other batteries every couple of years, and was getting sick of it. After 10 years of using an Optima and having no problems with it, I thought I was on borrowed time and bought a new one. My old Optima ended up in my fish house and for two seasons it’s been powering my lights. So, in the long run, the expensive Optima has been a better value for me than the much cheaper, replace every couple of years Fleet Farm/Wally batteries.

I haven’t had great luck with Interstate. I seem to go through at least one a year on the 36v TM system. Cranking battery was also an interstate and that lasted 2.5 years.

I’d like to replace them all but not sure it’s worth the expense. Odyssey AGM’s are the way to go.

Batteries are a get what you pay for kinda thing. If you are hard on batteries buy good ones. Being on the river in current all the time I know I am. Too critical of a part to go cheap.

SIGH, Interstate is contracted with the very worst battery maker out there to help make batteries so they can keep caught up, if you have ever had a battery that corrodes both terminals in less than a week you know who I am talking about, flame flame flame

Deka, and Napa batteries are one and the same, good batteries for the price!!

Wallymall batteries at the best are every manufacturers seconds, period.

My opinion only, if,,, you buy a lithium battery, it will last a long time if you buy a brand name, but think about what happens to it when its time to dispose of it, not good for the environment.

I’ve had pretty good experiences with Interstate. The pair of size 27 deep cycles that came with my boat in 2015 lasted for 4.5 seasons. I just replaced the original cranking battery that came with it last week, so I got 6 full seasons out of that thing. Pretty freaking good for a $100 lead acid battery.

Purchased a set of these last spring and ran them on my Terrova. Have been happy with them so far and the one time I have been out this spring they are working fine. When I was doing research it seems that these are made by East Penn/Deka. For $105 a batterie I feel it was a good deal. Will see how long they last.

I do think no matter what batteries you get a lot regarding longevity is based off how quickly you charge them after use and how you take care of them. I have a 3 bank Minnkota charger on my boat that is connected whenever I am not on the water.

So I’m in the market for 2 new group 31 batteries, what is a good battery that isn’t going to make me broke. Personally I’d like to stick under 200 bucks each.
As for my starting battery it’s a fleet farm battery and that one has lasted a long time. 5 years I bet. But on the trolling motor they got week after my second season.

X2 on the Wally World batteries. The last 2 deep cycles went 7 years with heavy use, and they were still going strong. Only reason I replaced them was because they were on sale this winter when I was doing all the work to my boat.
