Welcome to another edition of the Wigwam Monthly Newsletter. The December bite didn’t disappoint the guests of the Wigwam Resort as they jigged themselves plenty of Walleyes and Saugers. As if clock work, the first fisherman to the ice, made the big scores. As Christmas joyfully moved upon us, so did a monstrous snow storm, which consequentially blanketed the mid west in snow and gave those rascally fish a little case of lock jaw, but the days since have started to fair much better once again. As of today the bite is nice and strong, so get your butts up to Lake of the Woods for a little ice fishing!

We would like to thank all the guests so far this season that have stayed with us at the Wigwam Resort. So far the ball is rolling very nicely and a lot of that has to do to our great and gracious guests. Our staff is enthused to make sure your stay is an enjoyable one. We feed off of every person’s attitude and it’s great to be able to be around positive people, so thank you from myself and our staff.

This month the Wigwam Resort would like to offer any person, any person at all, the following deal. If you put together your groups fishing trips, then this is the deal for you. We have started offering the group organizers of a group of 11 or more people, a 10% commission on each guest/friend they bring, only if they are a new guest to the Wigwam Resort though. Ultimately what it boils down to is, bring 10 paying customers and you get a free trip… you can’t go wrong with that one. For additional information, please call the Wigwam Resort at (800) 448-9260 and ask for Jean-Paul (JP), Colleen or Stephanie. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to be rewarded for going fishing on the world’s best freshwater fishery, Lake of the Woods!

I know that I talked about this last month, but I must say it again. There is no substitute for going out ice fishing in the right accommodations, and there is nothing like a heated bombardier, heated ice house, and arguably the best Walleye fishing in the WORLD to top off your experience on Lake of the Woods this winter. The Wigwam Resort has assembled a fantastic “customer service oriented” staff and we are ready to make your winter vacation to paradise exactly that, a vacation to paradise. We have made some improvements for our guest’s entertainment, by adding a few more televisions in our lobby and bar; we want to make sure you don’t miss the big game, whatever it might be. We also have expanded our menu for a wider variety of fantastic food options, from specialty burgers, to roasted chicken dinners, and everything in between, which will be served exclusively at the Wigwam Resort restaurant… come try it out the next time you visit Lake of the Woods.

This month we look forward to that continued awesome ice fishing on the south side of Lake of the Woods. I have been hearing story after story about people that have made the trip up north to see if the fish have made it up to the reefs, and even I made that trip on New Years Day. The fact of the matter is, you should stay on the south side of the lake if you want to get into the quantities of fish that you’re accustom to on Lake of the Woods. The fishing may start to pick up on the reefs “up north” in a few days, but as of today it isn’t out fishing the south side. The lures of choice this year for the Walleyes and Saugers on Lake of the Woods have been the “Stop Signs”, “Gold Jigs” and “Jigging Rapalas”.

Our guests have been catching plenty of Walleyes and Saugers so far this year and the pictures that you see are only a few. If you’d like to view the rest, you should go to our website (www.wigwamresortlow.com) and take a look at the photo gallery. If you were a guest at the Wigwam and I didn’t get a chance to get your picture, please e-mail it to me with a little description and the size, and I’ll put it on the photo gallery and also on the TV’s (6 total) that constantly rotate pictures at the resort.

Another thing we talk a lot about at the Wigwam Resort, is Fish Tales. We want everyone to experience their own Fish Tales on Lake of the Woods. There have been plenty of happy guests this year and I’m no dummy, I know a ton of it has to do with the great fishing their having, but it also has to do with our great customer service. You visit us to have a great time, and it pleases us seeing you that way. I just had a few guests from the Chicago, Il area that had a great time fishing and they were so pleased with the fishing, food and the service that they are coming back again before the end of the season with a group of 10… I have to say, that says it all.

This year so far I’ve seen so many more kids, which is awesome to see… they are our future. We at the Wigwam Resort would like to promote that as much as possible, so what we would like to offer is as follows: If you come fishing with your kids, 12 and under, and you purchase a package for lodging and ice fishing, your kids will lodge for free. I know that it’s tough for families to go fishing at a resort, so we would like to help… I hope that some families can take advantage of the opportunity.

If you have been waiting to try a new place this year, you now have it, Wigwam Resort on Lake of the Woods. We are your outdoor enthusiasts dream destination… paradise without the passport. Whether your paradise is a crisp cold winter day, or a warm sunny summer day, we can make sure you enjoy your experience to the fullest. Please visit us on the web at http://www.wigwamresortlow.com to check us out… don’t forget to look at the Catch of the Day, Daily Fishing Report, Wigwam Blog and the Photo Gallery (this will really get your blood pumping). We look forward to meeting each and every one of you in the very near future.
