I’m not a huge fan of running a handheld on the boat due to the smaller screen size but if you’re going to do it the RC400 would be a good choice. The color will help you read the smaller screen and be able to see depth contours on your mapping. It’s a slightly larger screen than most handhelds too. It’s pretty cool that it comes with a mount for the boat and a 12V power cable to rig to your boat battery. Someone at Raymarine was thinking when they put the package together! Additionally, this unit will run all the best Navionics maps, including the Premium chip which has some of the best mapping available for lakes like Mille Lacs, Leech, Minnetonka, and Winni.
