Lead core line hasn’t changed much in the past few decades. On the positive side of the ledger traditional lead core allows an angler to present baits at depths not possible with other methods of presentation. On the negative side, traditional lead core required heavy trolling rods, big reels and often left an angler guessing if their lure was running properly due to the fact that lead core cancelled out all those tell-tale vibrations from a crankbait before they ever got anywhere near the rod tip.
