“Unleash the Secrets of the Deep”
The photo above shows a deep water/shallow water connection very
well. Most people would think the deep water around a wing dam
would be on the outside edge. Not always. Here, the first and
second wing dams illustrate a “blow out” up tight to shore. With
less current, it’s a perfect location for a resting 30 pound plus catfish
(36 pounds to be exact) as well as where walleyes are working the
current seams for a meal of river minnows or shad. LakeMaster’s
map shows wing dams on the Mississippi, and the 1-foot contours
make finding these blow outs easy. When you’re already on the
river, it’s too tempting to start fishing instead of studying the map
to find the prime locations. Fishing this type of area in the low flows
of August is deadly for big Flats. I see the walleye boys leaving at
sun down, just as I’m just starting to fish. Finding locations like these
are as easy as looking at your map whether you’re boating by the
location, Garage Mapping, or studying your LakeMaster PC Software.
It seems like there’s less time today to get on the water and locate
fish than there once was. LakeMaster map products let me use the
limited quality time I have, to locate productive areas many times
faster. Whether you’re fishing for Trophy Catfish, Sturgeon,
Walleye, Bass, Musky or Panfish, a quality map from LakeMaster
lets you spend more time catching fish and less time scratching
your head. Doesn’t everyone want to be catching when they
go fishing?
