Anyone have a favorite deadstick stand/holder for their deadstick rod? One that holds secure and may even help with a combo not going down a hole? To be used in close proximity to me jigging and with a baitfeeder.

I just use a 5 gallon bucket with a slight notch cut in it. Rest it so that the corresponding rod eye is in the notch letting the line pass freely without being pinched. The notch toward the handle end of my rod fits the split grip. It’s easy to grab quickly and because of the angle would be almost impossible for a fish to pull it down the hole. My can of minnows is usually sitting right inside the same bucket with a forceps, a few different hook/jig combinations, and maybe a bobber if I want to quickly switch to a bobber rig.
The only time I really fish this way is when targeting pressured walleye/sauger on Red or LOTW where I’m hunkered down. If I am fishing anywhere else I usually use a set line with a tip up, tip down, or finicky fooler to cover water.
3 dollar rod holder from any store. Been using 2 from Walmart for 10 years. And they still sell them
If the link works this is what I use and it works great.
Edit just noticed this one is collapsible, mine are not but same general idea.
I’ve had various rod holder contraptions throughout the years, always end up giving them away and setting my rod on a pail, in the snow, or keeping it in my hand. I’ve learned a lot about keeping it simple over the years
I like this $4.99 HT one from Fleet Farm because it folds up flat.
I would tie some paracord with a snap to it though to your rod because it will go down the hole with a rod if unattended.
I like the otter rod holders and an otter sidekick. I can set it up in my flip over or on a bucket in the hub or a wheel house.

This. However, I’ve firsthand noticed if you keep the line under the support, it won’t really allow it to get pulled down the hole. just remember to move the line before setting the hook.

I have reeled in a fish with the rod holder attached more then a few times.
I have one I bought a few years ago, you can adjust the opening of the legs as well as angle of holder, not sure who made it but works really well and it collapses down

X3. I like to keep my reels out of the snow/slush/water, does good job of that.
I use this one I purchased at a sports show. Made by Mean Minnow Fishing it was $10. All Solid steel.

X2 would also recommend
I should clarify that i use the one that clamps to the pole when in flipshack. Looking for something to set rods in outside the shack that is sturdy, yet easy to pack 2 in a bucket and not take up too much space.

I’ll have to try this!
scheels sells one that is $6 that attaches to a 5 gallon bucket. I like it as it is really easy to get out of the holder. Rod does not come out if a fish grabs it while your not looking. It is green if you look on their website. It is very small and easy to transport
I didn’t like how low the floor rod holders were so I made my own.
These are 14″ high. Easy to grab the rod when sitting in a chair.
They stack together and fit in a 5 gallon bucket.
Bucket because less likely to be kicked accidentally while moving around in the hub shack.
Use Tip Downs, much more effective and can be seen from longer distances allowing you to cover more area.
