I am looking at ordering a dead stick soon. I know they are both great rods. Just wondering if someone had the chance to compare them side by side or what your thoughts were on them. Please feel free to add in your thoughts on what you use for a dead stick rod. Thank you.

I just received an email from TUCR. Their dead stick would be available until mid-December because they did a slight revision on them.

Yep pushed the backbone up to a better point to use for the shorter rods.

Might want to look at JT Customs Walleye snare rod. I just purchased a pan fish snare and can’t wait to try it out. The idea is a very light tip so the fish swims off with the bait then hits into a stronger backbone and hooks itself when it starts to feel resistance.

I use DH Longboards with short 4″ cork handles paired up with rod rocker type rod holders. The Longboards are more similar to XL TB power noodles than the Thorne deadstick blank.

I use a DH Al Dente for my dead stick and might get a longboard this season (if it ever gets here)

i recently received my longboard noodle from D&H and i can see that rod being a good deadstick. i originally ordered it to be a longer hole hopping noddle rod (32in) which will still be its main purpose, but after putting some line on the reel and seeing how it loads up a deadstick application could be very good

I placed an order with TUCR for their dead stick. I can’t wait for the blank to be back in stock and the rod in my hand.
