This is the second time in less than a year. I gave her the meds yesterday shortly after finding out she has worms again. She is somewhat sluggish today so I hope I didnt handicap her for the IA opener this weekend? Vet assistant said something about a product that lasts 3 months so I need to discuss with Vet next time in. Any experienced insight on the topic appreciated.

What wormer are you giving her? What kind of worms does she have? Is she on year-round heartworm preventative (if so, what kind)?

Heartguard Plus Spring through fall. The de-wormer I was given is called Drontal Plus Taste Tabs. $35 per pill and I was prescribed two. Supposed to give her the second in 2 months. Same as before.

Depends on type of worms your dog has. If your dog is dog who gets into things in the woods or fields I would likely put her on a heartworm medication called interceptor plus.

I’d look into year-round heartworm meds. Some handle more varieties of worms than others–I can’t recall which right now. You can also buy over-the-counter wormers that are much cheaper. I’ve used “Safe-Guard” brand (got it at Fleet Farm). The active ingredient is fenbendazole. I used to buy the horse syringe for Floyd and dose him appropriately, but they make a canine version, too. If your dog likes to eat things, it’s probably not a bad idea to worm her occasionally.
