after 3 years of use. the battery wires snapped where the wires go into the unit. one did anyway, but both were cracked. even stored in a heated garage. have the new type chargers work well? i assume they are improved. right now i’m just sticking with my tried and true alligator clips.

That sucks – Those were pretty flaky in my experience so I didn’t miss them.

That said I’m a little different in that I use a Stanley 12v maintainer with float mode for all of my 12 volts.

My current charger on my LX5 and VS625SD were too flaky for me, staying red but my maintainer immediately puts them in float mode showing a full charge. Enough for me to not use anything else.

I love my Marcums but don’t like their chargers. I have used Battery Tender Juniors from advice of others on this forum and love them. I pick them up on sale at Fleet Farm
