Uh..oh, Can you see if it’s coming out of the lower unit or up top somewhere? When I pulled my boat out of storage I found a puddle of oil. I determined it was coming out of the top, not the lower unit. It’s still in the shop now being addressed as well as other issues. Didn’t know the shop had a 2-3 week backlog. ???

yeah, i’ll need to take a closer look when i get home this afternoon. hoping it’s maybe just a drain plug that isn’t fully seated and i can change the lower unit fluids and be okay. it’s a very slow drip as that’s 2 1/2 days worth. otherwise it’s off to the shop!

Found the culprit…could tighten the lower unit plug a little less than 1/4 turn.
Should that take care of it? Is the fluid likely to be okay inside?

I would play it safe and replace the lower unit lube. How many times have you had it out? Who knows how much may leaked out while you were motoring around and there could be water in there now. For the relative small cost, I would just replace. And make sure the plug is tight. doah

I agree, no idea how much leaked out and how much water got in. I replace it for sure. lower units are expensive. Don’t ask how I know doah whistling whistling
