Fishing for crappies. Catch a tiger Muskie and the damn thing bit me trying to land it. Cool fish coming up with clear ice but he tried to take my thumb.
Sorry no pic I had to attend to my thumb.

I bet you can’t. But crappie bite was good before the Muskie attack.

I specifically target them from July-October in about 3 lakes in the greater metro that they’re still stocked. This past season was not very good though. I only caught one, which was almost 37 inches, in September.

I was by myself so the photo isn’t the greatest. It had a rusted treble hook with about 2 feet of fishing line lodged inside its mouth, which I properly removed before releasing it. Amazing that fish could even feed and eat with that thing in there.

so…….i’m mainly a spear chucker in the winter….until season closes………but either way if i’m out fishin hook and line….the first 2 things i get together is the old mouth spreader and hookout.

i’ve had a few sliced up fingers from the toothy critters to remember to bring them with!!!!!!
