I’ve heard from a few people the SV concept on the Daiwa baitcasters is industry best in terms of preventing backlash. Even skipping light plastics is very do-able. Anyone with direct experience with this?

I also see that SV is only offered on the high end reels $260-500. Bit rich for my blood. Rumor has it that SV will be offered on the Tatula this year at a much better price point. Anyone know if that’s true and release date? Am heading to Florida late January and have thought of picking one up for the trip.

Have an Xmas gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket ;)

I mainly use my SV to skip Stanley Ribbit frogs under docks and over-hangs. While the Ribbit frogs aren’t exactly a light weight plastic, it works really well for that application and when I do get a backlash, it’s generally not too bad. I plan on trying to get better on skipping jigs next year and I will probably get another Diawa SV for that as well.
