Daily Socks

Last fall I decided to try some expensive wool socks. My wife has been bragging about smart wool for years but I was too smart for that and always relied on my white cotton. I started out with Smart Wool then Darn Tough but quickly found favor with Kane 11. They make socks to your foot size and their crew socks were taller than the DT. They fit perfectly.
I converted over completely from white cotton socks and only tried wearing one again once and it felt “icky”. The heaviest Kane 11 makes is a mid-weight merino wool so they fit in all my shoes, which is important. All footwear has to be considered whether your buying socks or shoes when it comes to sizing.
I have been wearing the same 3 pair of Kane’s for about two months and they are holding up well. Both Kanes and Darn Tough have lifetime warranties. Whatever that means for a sock……. We always talk about heavy socks but never really day to day wearing socks. Anyone else change to wool from cotton? Something worth mentioning. Your feet stay dryer with wool. Any fungal activities associated with damp cotton (toenail) have seemed to disappear.

They make socks to your foot size…

This would be nice. I wear a 14 shoe, so regular socks are too small for me, and often times the XLs are a little on the big size.

Those Kane 11s don’t come cheap, though!

I haven’t worn cotton socks for about 8-9 years, all poly/merino and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done.

I have poor circulation in my hands/feet which lead to lots of cold sweats at all times of year and have always had bad athlete’s foot. Since I made the switch over time, I collected a big mix of brands (SW, DT, Lorpen, Bridgedale, Terramar to name a few). Some are better than others and although it’s not cheap to get started, I’ve had many of these pairs last 6-8 years with no appreciable wear so you get the bang for your buck.

I’ll definitely be looking into these, will probably get a 4pk to test them out.

Im getting another 4-pack today. That will do it for a long time.
Im thinking of trying their light weight socks and ankle socks next summer.
    Maybe abandoning cotton for good?

With all the money Suzuki is saving from not parking in Hudson he can afford fancy socks.

I almost exclusively wear dry fit socks now for every day use. Wool is way too hot for my feet unless I’m sitting in a deer stand. Regular cotton socks aren’t any good either.

Either you don’t drink much beer or you are stocking up on Busch Light with their cold weather sale. Lol
