Hello I have a new 5 x 7 Alumlite fish house and the interior walls are spray foam over aluminum studs. I want to affix some 1″ x 4″ cedar on the walls to hang rattle reels, etc. Has anyone done this and if so, what kind of screws did you use and what length? The thickness of the foam varies so I will probably have to shave some of the foam down. I am very cautious so as to9 not pierce the exterior pf the structure.
    Thanks

I think they just use 1″ aluminum framing, so…. factor that into your board thickness and use self tapping metal screws….Give Bebergs a call as they sell/customize them, from what I’ve seen, you’ll want to shave most of the foam down…

I believe there is a utube video out there that shows how to mount cedar boards.
It looks like they shave the foam down in that area prior to installation. I’m guessing they use self tappers.
