That big of a shack and my 16’ has nicer and more comfortable beds than a pullout couch

I wonder If it will ever be used for fishing… those ceilings are massive tall!

2 – 3 weeks a year is all that it could actually be on the ice.

I think there is more to the story like using it as a cabin on wheels to beat the law on property taxes. Just think the vehicle you need to tow it around.

That will make a sweet “cabin” and ice house for a month or two on LOW (longer season).

    Good for whoever bought it.

Also, bet that thing bottoms out at a lot of landings?

I like that Smokey Hill guy’s reviews. I’ve watched a ton of his videos. He’s got an accent but I can’t place it, Australian? New Zealand?

Far from jealousy. I wouldn’t want to pull that pig let alone fish in it. Yeah may be good for a weekend wit da
boyz or whatever, but when there is more counter space than floor space something is wrong. Except for the high ceilings it looks cramped and less than functional as a fish house or camper. The only thing I like about it is the bathroom is on the far end away from the main area, so I can poop in peace.

But imagine having that thing freeze to the ice.

Oversized to the point of ridiculous for use on ice. Your window would be small around here and likely only far north.

I agree with munchy. I’m all for extravagant and gowdy and people spending their money however the heck they want but that thing just doesn’t look well thought out.

Perhaps it fits the owner perfectly, if that’s the case good for him. toast

Looking at the layout and lack of holes I am sure that is more of a camping shack versus fishing.
That monstrosity looks like it should have been a fifth wheel.

No jealousy here. I could pay cash for a few of those but why would anyone want something like that. He is obviously not buying it to fish.

I agree that thing is too big and impractical the way it’s set-up. If it was a toy hauler it would be a completely different story.

I’m sure he’s cutting in more holes himself though. It’s hard to trust someone else to just put them in anywhere. I did all of my own and glad I did.

Here’s our big shack. It’s a 27’+2′ vee with one slide out and a toy hauler door. Works awesome on 15″+ of ice. Less than that I leave it on shore as base camp and take the toys out to fish waytogo

We use it every month of the year. I’ve spent well over 30 nights in it since we got in in March.

It’s BIG, but not crazy big lol

Yep there was only 8″ of ice on the lake day.

I wasn’t taking the truck and shack out shock jester

But they both got the wheeler and Otter to the landing, and gave me a nice place to spend the night on land. Also worth noting, she’s not equipped with strobes or a flag pole )

It’s been a while since I’ve looked at the various Ice Castle layouts, but this does seems like way too many counters and cabinets that give up floor space. If you set up chairs by the holes in the kitchen, that’s a pretty cramped place to sit. And I can’t imagine watching the kitchen TV that close up.

I’d also want to see the the couches and how it folds down to a bed. For a house that big, I’d expect a very comfortable bed. The size ice house is for the construction or lawn care guy or realtor who doesn’t work winters and sets up on LOTW for weeks at a time after Christmas.

I do like the extra height. It makes it feel more open and less cramped and more like a traditional camper when used during the summer.
