As ice season approaches, I’d like to offer up these ice rod racks. They’re custom-built to your specs (number of slots, wood, finish). This one was done in oak with a natural finish. I also built a pair of these that held 24 rods each, for a guy who builds and sells custom rods. The model shown can be self standing or wall mounted.

A basic rack like shown would cost $50 plus shipping. Or you could pick them up yourself in the Grand Rapids area.

Let me know if you are interested. Takes a week or so to complete.

Very nice but shouldn’t your spacing be wider? From the picture it does not look like another rod would fit very well between the two that are shown.

Well, it works well for me. I have a pine version just like it that I use (the one in the photo was sold) and I have it filled with rods and reels all the way across with no issues. See photo …

On the other hand, I’m open to making them anyway anybody would want one … so if somebody asked for wider spacing I’d be glad to do it.

    CUSTOM ICE ROD RACKS
How long would a 10 rod rack be?
    Thanks Alan

I would add 10 inches to the width to accomodate and extra three rods, compared to the one in the photo which was built for 7. That would make the rack approx 33″ wide. I could do that for you in oak (as in the photo) for $65 plus shipping, if needed.

Let me know if this works for you.

Should work fine … I’ve got the rod rack half-way done, should be done by early next week.

If you send or PM me your phone number I’ll send you my address.

Man, the weather looks great … should be a good trip to URL.

    Hi Kevin,

I would like to purchase one of these racks. I will not be able to make it to Grand Rapids so we will need to include shipping to Circle Pines, MN.

I have a PayPal account we can use for payment.

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Sounds good, Steve.

Did you want the 10-rod version ($65) or the 7 rod version ($50)?

To save on shipping costs, we could send the rack to you in a kit. I would build it completely, take it apart to minimize the size of the shipping container, and ship it. It would require that you screw it together … about 10 screws. Are you interested in trying that … if not I can ship it completely assembled.

    Let me know … thanks.

I have just built two more of these oak 10-rod racks. One is purchased (Thanks Steve!) but the other is available. It is unstained, so if you would like to get one now is a great chance. I can finish it in a couple days (stain & poly protectant) and get it on its way.

Thanks Steve … looking good! Now that the ice season has wound down, it IS nice to have a place to store the rods where we can see them and think about the next season and first ice.
