Looks like a regular trailer. How do you lower it?

It does not lower. The hole sleeves make up the height above the ice. Works great, and you still get a trailer with a 5000lb capacity that rides nice and smooth. That was the trade off when I went this direction.

What’s the weight of the unit?

Here is the link for the trailer. You can click on the link to see the specs. Model for sale here is the 714VDC. Says the trailer is 2060#. I have not had it on a scale, but with the finished interior, etc I would guess it’s sitting right around 3000lb now.

very nicely built but my neck is sore just thinking about looking at a bobber with the trailer being off the ground that far. you have to be pretty much right over the hole to see your bobber dont you?

Yes, I caught that after I posted. Still would like the age. $14K seems like a lot, but not knowing it’s age it’s hard to say for sure.

Evening, gents. The trailer is a 2015 purchase. Tie downs are deep sank into the frame with coarse thread fasteners. Tow rear, two mid, two front. Hope this pic works. Coletrain: We usually fish a bobber at our feet and a jig rod right next door. Pretty easy to see both.

Just responding to this makes me wonder why I’m selling it! I should be fishing!

Just put another bobber stop on the line set above the floor. You can see the fish take it down from anywhere in the shack.

So simple and such a great idea. I can’t believe I never thought of that. Thanks Jon.

Assuming you have to be using a bait feeder reel then? Otherwise it would just pull on the pole…

bobber, bail open, bobber stop between bobber and rod tip.

My buddy has a 7×14 set up very similar, we just use snare rods or rattle reels for set lines. Catch plenty of fish out of it.

Pretty sure this means the end of ice fishing, at least in the metro! (I ain’t got a 2×12 that long!)

Officially changing the title of my posting to “Camper/toy hauler/wheel house”.

Who needs a camper?! I am around this weekend and would be glad to show you this fine camper! (Location: Rosemount, MN)

That’s a great looking setup. If I didn’t just buy a quad I would consider an offer
