That was a first for me. First time I’ve seen a menu sporting jalapeño jelly!

I have had jalapeño jelly on crackers with cream cheese and it is deliscious. I bet it is even better with bacon.

The jelly is not hard to make. Hot pepper jelly can be made from any kind of hot pepper.

I was in Northfield yesterday for the festivities. Ma and I took a tour thru the vendors in the park behind the old high school and found a young lady selling pickles and jellies, most of which were made using hot peppers. I sampled a pickled jalapeno made in a sweet brine that was darned good. I also had some pickled pea pods that had some serious beginnings to heat.

I’m going to pickle all of my Thai-hots and cayenne peppers this afternoon.
