Crossing River Ice, Winter Patterns

Hit the Colorado River and the Roaring Fork River this past weekend. After waiting out most of the morning for the ice chunks to go away on the river, we started fishing and found some patterns that worked…In the Colorado River the bites were all off of aggressive jerk fishing with the HD Trout (Natural Patterns). We missed a big handful of bites but managed to land a couple as well…We then went to the Roaring Fork and found the pattern changed. NO BITES at all jerk fishing, but had several bites and one landed fish with the same pattern HD Trout but just very slow cranking up the current.

The Fork is much colder then the Colorado River so half the river was frozen…Wound up crossing some ice to get to a rock to fish, normally not a good idea but knew the water depth under the ice wasn’t enough to go past my chest area. Still made me nervous though. Hope you enjoy the pictures! Got some cool underwater releases of some trout! Video link below if you have time🎣🎣 BE SAFE OUT THERE!
