My dad is looking for a fixed blade recommendation for his crossbow. I told him no mechanicals based on the KISS rule. This is his first year hunting archery. I’m leaning towards Muzzy, Slick Trick or G5 Striker.

    All opinions welcome!

To be honest all those brands are pretty solid picks! I am going to say in my own search for fixed heads I came across a lot of people swearing by Slick Tricks. Now with that said I went to Fleet Farm to pick em up and they were all sold out. Personally for my bow I use Rocket Sidewinder broadheads (mechanical) with good success!

Where is Hugo? just east of Centerville or north of St. Paul 20 miles.
Cannot find any on the net, they look interesting.
    Thanks

i went with wasp hammers when i started shooting an xbow 3 years ago
have shot 2 nice bucks that went about 75 yards each
the hammers shoot dead-on after sighting in w/field points and are only about 30 bucks for 3 w/xtra blades
wasp came out with a drone this year that i am wanting to try. an impressive review video on them from antler geeks

I’ve shot deer with Slick Tricks, Strikers, Muzzy’s and I just shot my first deer with a QAD Exodus and I will say after pass thrus with all of them, the QAD looks like it just came out of the package. All are good heads and I wouldn’t hesitate to use any of them but I am EXTREMELY impressed with the Exodus for both flight, build and cutting diameter.

After putting on the Slick Trick broadheads, we were shooting low 4 inches and to the right 4 inches. Made the adjustment and Roger is good to go to 30 yards now. He has marked this distance all our our stands so he’s confident about his limitations. The wind blew like crazy out there the last couple days so he hasn’t been in the stand. Hopefully tonight.
