Fishing was good yesterday. Found plenty of biting fish in 19′ – 22′ Caught Sauger, White bass and of course sheephead. I used mostly lindy rigs with fathead. Switched to the flooded trees to find some crappie and they too were willing to bite. Water temp was 60.5 degrees and river stage was at 684.45′

Thanks for sharing. I drive over the Croix twice a day. Very few boats out. With the waters receeding, this should change…although I think many of the tuna boats have been put up in dry dock over the last two weeks.

Hard to get fuel and/or potties pumped when all the marinas are preparing for flooding. The toss the no-wake restrictions on top of that.

Wake restrictions? What are you talking about?

I was amazed that so many boaters either ignored or are not aware of the restrictions. I bet more than half the boats I saw on the water yesterday were not observing the restriction. On the Croix at Stillwater the normal stage is 75-76′ (600′ is base line) and when it hits 83′ a river wide no wake goes into effect. Besides the deadheads floating all over could do some damage to a boat.

    Here’s s site I visit for reference:
