I ALWAYS have some degree of success out there on St Croix using a bottom bouncer and a Rapala “FlatRap” or floating rap. I like the gold and black color. I do not catch big numbers but in past 2 weeks I have a 26 and a 27 incher. Good luck.
We had hits and that seemed to be one of the better colors, just no hook-ups. I was thinking that the lightning storm that went through the night before may have had something to do with it also. I’m thinking of taking a week or 2 off and hitting it again the end of the month.
i look at lakefront park launch every weekend and just shake my head. I am also waiting for that post Labor Day period.
