Is there a ramp that I need to be careful of, I have seen some posts about trailers getting hung up at that launch?

St. Croix Bluffs? When I had my big Skeeter, I had a heck of a time getting the front cross member hung up on the concrete right where it drops off. Among other things, I found to remedy that if you launch and load really tight to the west dock, you’ll get in and out with a minimum of scraping on the break-over. Trying to use the center lane will get pretty ugly jerr

It’s a good launch. But if you have a low trailer like I do be careful. The last concrete ramp sections break off at the end at a steep angle. I can’t get my boat in there.

I have a low trailer also and I am only able to use the first (most Western) lane. I don’t hit there. I have gotten stuck in the other two spots. The center spot seems to be the worst as I pretty much hear every trailer hit.

Thanks. I may be looking at another spot to launch.

I already had one trailer totaled up on Mille lacs, several years back.

I can look back and laugh at it now.

This launch –and numerous others on the Croix–share history of controversy over power loading.

I think you need a little clarification. The problem with the bluff ramp is at the top of the ramp. When backing down, (or pulling out) the bottom of many trailers scrape the lip. The scraping usually happens a couple to three feet behind the hitch. I have never had a problem with the tires dropping off the back (underwater) end of the ramp.

    Thanks jon

I was thinking the problem was a wash out area.

I was there this morning and the far west and middle landes were good to go, I have scraped there before, but didn’t today, they might have filled some in or I am just getting smarter and loading and unloading my boat.
