My son and I are floating the St Croix for our annual Father/Son outing on Sunday afternoon. Any suggestions for successful fishing will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I will be over there either tomorrow or sunday with the family. Crawlers on the bottom is always a good bet. Should be plenty of bass on the shorelines. Cast small spinners, tubes wacky worms or even a crawler under a bobber to catch them.

We will be parked on a sandbar somewhere with a few lawn chairs in the water and a few lines soaking on the bottom.

Thanks for the tips, Mike! We will give ’em a try and see if we can get something to go. Tight lines!

Well we made the float. Nothing exciting to report from the catching standpoint, just a couple of smallies. None-the-less we had a good float and since we started late in the day, we had the river mostly to ourselves. Next time, I think that I would try going to down from the Osceola Landing.

There are a lot less people from Osceola to W O Brian park. We where out there on Sunday with the kids checking out the sand bars. The smallies seemed to be hanging in the current breaks pretty good. The river is still up a little for this time of year with pretty good flow.
