It’s been way too long since the last time I fished the Croix but I had big numbers Saugers and walleyes come to the boat for the few hours I was out trolling, unfortunately I got nothing huge and most fish averaged 14″-16″ I plan on being on the water ALL DAY tomorrow.
I also caught A BUNCH of White bass today reeling in my cranks to check them, the white bass seemed to be from the surface on down to 15′.

At least one of us (me) is curious if you got out and how you did. I’m planning on hitting the Croix this week after the recreational traffic slows and was curious in general how you did. Thanks.
The eyes have been turning on pretty good as of late, a lot of small ones with a few eaters mixed in. I’ve been catching larger fish with live bait and more on cranks. My best today was 20″ and then a few fish later I caught a catfish and everyhting else just quit biting???? On my way back to Hudson in Afton near the yacht club baech I had a ski right next to the boat in the mid 40″ range, neat to see. The eyes I caught were caughing up a lot of minnow, next time I would try vert. jigging with minnows. Water temp was around 77 on the surface for me. I’m sure Jesse will have a follow up report, but that’s just a guess.
