crappie action

Haven’t heard much from lakes such as Big Carnelian, Big Marine, etc on the panfish Anyone hitting these lakes besides the croix? What depth are you finding them in right now?

I’ve been out to Big Carnelian a few times this year. Didn’t really target pannies, but I had my camera down every time and i didnt see a whole lot for panfish. Figured i would at least see a couple schools move through, but I maybe saw three crappies total, and none of them passed were even close to keeper size.

its been a strange year for panfish IMO. Back bays and brush piles in the shallows are either too shallow to fish, or are above the ice Ive only caught a few on my 5 times that ive been out. Im still trying to find out what the fish are doing…
