Has anyone tried up by Osceola to St Croix Falls yet? I haven’t been up there since about July. I would think that the fish would start moving up to that stretch of river pretty soon.

Havent been up that way since taking the kids swiming over a month ago. I would bet the bite is going pretty good. Try vertical jigging and pitching in the holes like Rock Island and near Peasly lake. With the little better flow going on this fall the bite should be good.

As far as fish moving into the area Im not to sure about that. Have never really seen it in the past. What does seem to happen is they school up more this time of year. I have had some pretty good numbers days up there this time of year.

I went up to Rock Island today for a few hours. I had a few bites but no hookups so I headed north about 1 1/2 miles to the next deep hole and had 5 fish in the boat. I caught 3 short eyes and 2 decent saugers. Used a 3/8 oz jig and a small sucker. All of the fish were caught on a steep drop. All in all, it was a decent day of fishing.
