Since I wanted to pre fish the area, I arrive around 11 a.m.

Between 11 and Noon when Putz arrived, I had two soft nudges on my fathead tipped tear drop. Putz (as advertized) was full of lutifisk and he took it upon himself to fish a little deeper and down wind. This paid off for him because he iced the first crappie out there.

Comanchero15 was next to arrive. I thought I was on the cutting edge of new technology….he was fishing with a pager to let him know when he had a strike…. Steve has everything but the kitchen sink…Once the ice is safe, he’s going to bring out his “good” fish house…likely to have a kitchen sink…and lazy boy.

Mike W and his friend Mike slid up. Mike, I’m really glad you didn’t say that Mike was your brother Mike…not to be confused with Mike landed the first perch out of about 20 feet of water

Stillakid2 was next out…this is the guy that said he didn’t have any ice equipment. Just for the record, he has more than the other four of us put together!

Since the fish weren’t exacly jumping on to the ice, Mike, no the other Mike, cut some holes around my hot spot. Although this turned the bite off for me, we all got to meet each other share fishing, in-depthangling and prostrate stories.

About that time is when the venison started to show up. Mike…wrong again, the other Mike brought out this venison sticks and Putz brought out his (summer) sausage. I’m being very careful here buddy!

It was great conversation and even better venison.

Oh yeah! The fish! I happy to say our man Putz took the pot for First, Biggest, Most and Most specis. It was great that he practice catch and release, a true role model. I’m thinking that I need to get some ludifisk for bait…

Seriously, in talking with the folks coming off the river, they all had the same story. Around 4 crappies, a few saugers. Not exactly the hotest bite.

Thanks guys for coming out. Good Company!

Steve, I had your videos in my truck. I’m not done with the books yet. Looking forward to square!
Putz…My Mom says Hi! She does remember you!
    Mike…good luck on Pool 2.
    Stillaken…It was a stalemate today

This is on account of the poker game Brian failed to mention! You think he’s in trouble for photographing his wife of 23 years……in a trash bin (of all the classy places!)…….wait until she reads about him gambling off all the ice equipment to the same squirt that already owns 50% of his boat!
Brian, Brian, Brian………………How doest thou dig thine own detriment with a fervorous ambition, likened to Edison’s insistance of electric light? What wilt thou gain once thy soul is lost? Just as the ice you drill fills with water, so shall destiny fill the void excavated by your discretions. Let this be served as warning. Save not for the gloating of prophecy.

Stalemate?……………….I think not. You might, however, want to “reacquire” that little back problem before she finds out about this…………maybe the pity will be enough to spare you her wrath.

………….. Good thing I’m wearing “waders” today! It’s getting pretty deep already!
