my initial plan was to head out at 8am, but thunderstorms postponed that adventure. i made it out to thw dams about 430pm, and was surprised to find my girl and i the only ones fishing. the smallmouth bite was very hot, with alot of 1-3 pounders hitting our flathead minnows. a fellow fisherman across the way caught a monster of a carp but while he did he knocked his other pole into the water **i got it back, i dont know if youre on this forum, but i recovered your lost rod. ill return it to you in person the minute i see you.” After the sun set the bite died aside from a crappie and a rock bass. as i was picking my gear at 1030, i saw a boat with a huge spotlight by the turn bridge. hope who ever it was had good luck.

Awful nice of you to return his rod. How did you get it back?

We’ve had some awesome mornings and evening for fishing this year. Enjoy while we can!!

try a split shot about 6-8 inches above a crappie minnow casted from north to southwest and slowly retrieved I think there just maybe more than one crappie hanging in there

Anybody try medium size silver rattlin raps cast at brush for crappies? Hold on tight….

We were both below the malilieu dam on opposite sides. He had both poles resting up against the railing when a big fish hit one of em. During the fight the other pole got knocked in and he didnt try to fish it out. So at night fall when I was ready to go I swung aroung to the other side of the dam, rigged up my 8’6″ cat rod with a 3/4 egg sinker and a 4/0 kahle hook and began dragging the bottom in the same proximity where it fell in and got it back. It even had a fish on, even though it was only some kind of sucker. Ive seen him in the same spot three times now this summer, so giving it back shouldnt be too hard.
