12/21 in Bayport

    Fished Bayport area from 1200pm – 5:15pm. Measured 10″ of ice. Beautiful day – warm, wind calm, lots of folks out on both the MN and WI sides. Caught 7 crappies, 1 very small walleye, and 1 perch. Caught all the crappies on my Dead Stick rod rigged with a plain hook and crappie minnow, 4′ off the bottom. Kind of a slow bite, catching one every 20 minutes or so. Great day to be out, had a fun time.

    Comm, you did better than me I only got one small eye and a mudpuppy(ick). However I didn’t have a rod rigged for crappie. Oh well next time. I might try WI side tonight for crappies cause the bars been beating me up.

    Hey Lindy…I haven’t been out since last week, but I was catching more crappies on my walleye tear drop and a fathead than on my little crappied teardrop with a crappie minnow.
    I know Comm had just the opposite experiance.

    Hoping to get back out there…..soon!
