Anyone run into any active white bass yet on the Croix? We checked around up towards Taylors falls on Saturday with out any luck. I have to wonder with the fair weather this week if they may start to show up by next weekend.

Nothing better than a great white bass bite with friends or the kids.

I usually wait for BrianK to broadcast the early season white bass action. His location description rivals most GPS capabilities..

    Mr. Rapalafisherman…now there’s a mouth full.

I’ve had my best luck down by the kinni. Start fishing where the State Park Rangers have their pontoon and zig zag over to the sand at the mouth of the kinni. There always seems to be some spunky ones in that area.

Mike – I’m heading out about noon today and fish the warmer sunny part of the day. I’ll let you know how we do.

No white bass located but I did see a HUGE otter up close and personal on shore last night. That was a treat.

Were you the one anchored “North” of the train bridge in the Croix last night? J/K

But, I am sure those folks that were anchored in Croix were only fishing crappies. I heard the channel is a crappie hot spot.

for those of you who like to fish white bass, they are biting, i caught some over the weekend vertical jigging in current seams. the bigger the minnow the more they like it. the idea is to go slow, too fast and the fish will not look at your bait.
