Bayport Ice Report

There is finally ice all the way across at Bayport. The river is iced in from Stillwater to the Hudson Swing Bridge. Don’t get too brave, it’s only about a 1/2 inch thick. We need a good cold snap to get the river in fishing shape but it is not too far away. There is road work going on at Hubs Point so you can’t get through there right now. I called Bayport Public Works and they are rerouting the road but assured me that the access will still be there when they are done. The old road was apparently in the wrong place and Bayport has to reroute it on to their property easement. We need that access to get on the river on the Minnesota side. I don’t know about the rest of you but I have the bug bad and I need some ice. I just made a sweet Fishhouse and I’m tired of sitting in it next to the house – time to hit the river!!

I’ve been out there (next to the shed) and haven’t had as much as a nibble.
I didn’t get to meet you on the water last year, so maybe we’ll meet on the ice…
I want to drain your brain of catfishing tactics on the Croix…if you’ll allow me to.
