With the long weekend approaching, I am stuck between cleaning the rig up for the winter, or heading out on the croix to fish. My last couple of outings have turned up empty. Anyone having any luck? I usually put in at Hastings, jig through prescott and then head up the croix.

I haven’t been up there in a few years but the Hasting Dam area Should be producing fish.
Anybody been out at the dam?
This year with the water very low the fish should be stacked into a smaller area.

I was up there last week,tried everything except hair and Sonars. Minnow and jig did’nt go ,as well as doo’s and ringies. Spent 1.5 hours trying and then went to Prescott. Did a little better there.
I spent a couple hours with a new friend on Wed afternoon around the Afton area dragging cranks. I was so engaged in conversation, I didn’t realize until it was time to go that we didn’t have a bite!
I’m going to try jigs this week, but waiting for the ice and then….well is it too early to thing spring?
