So I took a little detour on my way home tonight. Other than seeing a bazillion deer (some of which made me drool), I also noticed some shed tracks heading down the blocked off road toward the landing. Anyone know if anything is going on down there? I’d rather not risk a heart attack getting in and out of there without being able to drive down. I marked and caught some nice fish at the end of open water last year off the beach area and channel, just curious if it’s worth the walk. Wonder if it’s ok to bring my bow along too?

Sure seems like it could be good there with that great flat/shelf in front of landing area. I’m with you though. I’m not making that walk back with gear.

I can barely make the portapotty from the launch during open water! One would definately want to pack light for that journey, but the ride down would be a blast! Wonder if it would be easier to park in the camp ground and take the path down? I’ll see how bored I get this weekend with my other spots.

The ride down would be good! But knowing me I would go too fast on my clam and have a terrible accident..

Hey Suzuki, do you think if I get the otter going good down the hill, stick an oar off the port side at the bottom, I could probably coast to the Kinni narrows? Again, the walk back would suck, even before the hill.

My cartoon bubble has some pretty funny images of you going down that hill on your portable. Let me know if you are ever going to do it – I could win a few bucks on Funniest Home Videos with that video clip.

I fished that big bar last week and it was slow with only a couple of lookers. Was surprised to find a house on the tip and as I was leaving the owner showed up driving his truck. Not what I might recomend with only a foot of ice on that bar. He parked a couple of hundred yards away but it still looked too danderous for my thinking. He said the action has been slow with a flurry at sunset. I was on my snowmobile out of Prescott and made it up past the open water north of the Kinnie but the Shad were very thick. Fished my way down river but the Shad were everywhere and pretty heavy down by Prescott. After several trips to that end of the river I have given up for this season and am back up to Bayport. I am not sure I would make that hike from what I saw.

Thanks guys, maybe save that trip for the spring when I can drive down with something that floats. I still might do the hill in the sled for the heck of it!
